Hugh Jackman says being married to Deborra-Lee Furness ‘doesn’t feel like a job’ and is ‘one of the best things’ in his life … after their 25th anniversary
Hugh Jackman recently celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.
And the 52-year-old actor told NBC’s Today show this week that his marriage “doesn’t feel like a job.”
He said: ‘People often say,’ Oh my God, marriage is a lot of work. ‘ There are some things you have to live for, but it doesn’t feel like that. ‘

“It’s been one of the best things in my life,” added the X-Men star.
Elsewhere, the Broadway actor called his wife the ‘most optimistic person’ in his life.
‘Deb is the lightest and most optimistic person I have ever met in my life. For example, if you ever want to play who is the happiest person in the room, Deb wins, ” he said.

In April, Hugh shared photos of their 1996 wedding day along with a heartfelt tribute to Deborra-Lee as they celebrated their 25th anniversary.

In addition to a thriving romance, Hugh and Deborra-Lee are doting parents to two adopted children, their 20-year-old son Oscar and their 15-year-old daughter Ava.
Deborra-Lee told The Daily Telegraph last year that she and Hugh had chosen to adopt their children from the United States because it was “easier.”

Deborra-Lee explained that she was ‘appalled’ and ‘appalled’ by the Australian bureaucracy and instead went through the American system after moving to the United States.
“We weren’t famous there, we jumped through every hoop and did it all according to the books, and it was so much easier,” she said of her adoption process.
She said there was a ‘systemic dysfunction’ in Australia’s adoption system, which inspired her to launch the Adopt Change charity in 2008.
