COVID-19 Cases at Ottawa School Boards Last Week

OTTAWA – School has resumed in Ottawa, and students from all four boards are now returning to class.

Several boards are already reporting some cases of COVID-19 among their school populations, with classes isolated because of it.

Ottawa Public Health does not report any active COVID-19 outbreaks in local schools.

Below is data for the top four Ottawa school boards.

OTTAWA-CARLETON DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

The OCDSB hasn’t updated its COVID-19 dashboard since Aug. 13, when it showed no cases across the board. OCDSB students returned to class on Thursday, September 9.

OTTAWA CATHOLIC SCHOOL BOARD

The Ottawa Catholic School Board says that, as of September 10, an All Saints High School student tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, there are no closings of classes or schools.

A letter sent Friday night, obtained by CTV News Ottawa, notified families of a positive COVID-19 case at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School; however, this case is not reflected on the dash board at this time.

Classes at OCSB resumed on Tuesday, September 7

EASTERN ONTARIO PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD

CEPEO says that, as of September 10, there are six active cases of COVID-19 among students and four classes are closed. The four closed classes are at the Michaëlle-Jean primary school, which has four active cases. There is one active case each at Gisèle-Lalonde Secondary School and L’Héritage Secondary School.

None of the CEPEO schools are closed due to COVID-19.

Classes began at CEPEO on Tuesday, August 31.

COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC SCHOOLS OF THE CENTER ORIENTE

The CECCE says that, as of September 10, it has 13 active COVID-19 cases and 18 classes are isolated. The CECCE does not differentiate between cases in students and staff. None of its schools are closed due to COVID-19.

  • The Collège catholique Samuel-Genest has three active cases, with five isolated classes.

  • Découverte Elementary School has two active cases with four isolated classes.

  • George-Étienne-Cartier Primary School has one active case and four isolated classes.

  • La Vérendrye primary school has an active case with an isolated class.

  • Notre-Place Elementary School has an active case with two isolated classes.

  • Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau Elementary School has an active case with no isolated classes.

  • Garneau High School has an active case with no isolated classes.

  • Pierre-Savard High School has two active cases with two isolated classes.

  • There is a case related to personalized education in the Lamoureux primary school.

Classes at the CECCE resumed on Tuesday, August 31, with the exception of the Bernard-Grandmaître and Jonathan-Pitre schools, which started classes two weeks earlier.
