Pilot at LaGuardia airport claims a “ bomb ” was heard asking for help to record

The pilot of a plane that made an emergency landing at LaGuardia airport for fear of a bomb on board was calm and collected in his recorded conversation with air traffic controllers.

The pilot of Republic Airlines Flight 4817 is heard constantly declaring, “We are landing right now,” as the crisis unfolds.

The terrifying incident occurred just before 3 p.m. when the plane, which was coming from Indianapolis, landed on runway 4 at the Queens airport and quickly evacuated its 76 passengers and four crew members.

“Tower, Brickyard 48 … 4817, we are declaring an emergency, we have a situation here where a suspicious person has an item that looks like an explosive device,” says the pilot, according to a recording posted online on liveatc.net.

“Brickyard 4817, you said there is a suspect … Does anyone have anything suspicious?” air traffic controllers respond.

“Yes, on our plane. We are landing right now, ”says the pilot.

Seventy-six passengers and crew members were evacuated after the pilot called a "emergency situation" on the plane.
Seventy-six passengers and crew members were evacuated after the pilot called in an “emergency” situation on the plane.

A woman who sat next to the seemingly crazed passenger and alerted a flight attendant told The Post that her strange seatmate was “timing” the flight after takeoff.

“I was looking at photos of what appeared to be homemade bombs. Then he got very erratic and restless at the end of the flight and he went to grab a camera as we were landing and asked for the blind to be put on. It was very strange behavior, ”he said.

As the pilot and air traffic control discuss which runway the aircraft should take, the tower asks “do you need help?”

“Yes, we are going to evacuate and the passengers will be safe from the plane, because we don’t know what this person has. Everyone else is scared on this plane, ”said the pilot.

The lifeguards received the plane on the runway.
